The continuing stories from the New York Police Department’s “Special Victims Unit” – a group of elite detectives charged with bringing to justice the perpetrators of an array of unsettling sexually oriented crimes. While their investigations test their professional expertise, the detectives must also balance their tumultuous personal lives. Season 9 crimes include the murder of a Park Avenue socialite, the hunt for a serial killer, a sperm bank robbery, a copy cat killer and the case of an online avatar who becomes a missing person.
The Strategic Response Unit are an elite squad within the Toronto police force. When situations arise that the regular cops can’t handle – a hostage crisis, a bomb threat, or simply too much firepower in the criminals’ hands – the specially trained officers of the SRU are called in to deal with the Flashpoint.
